phpLD (PHP Link Directory) is a directory script that helps you organize and promote your website by categorizing links. While Softaculous can automate installation, you may sometimes need to install phpLD manually, for example, if you want a specific version or are working on an unmanaged server.

Steps to Install phpLD Manually

Download phpLD.
-
Visit phplinkdirectory.com.

Download the latest
.zippackage (free or paid version).

Extract Files.
-
Unzip the downloaded package locally.

The extracted folder will contain phpLD installation files.

Upload Files to Your Hosting Account.

Use FTP or File Manager in cPanel to upload the contents of the extracted folder.

Place them in the
public_htmldirectory if you want phpLD at the root (e.g.,example.com). -
Alternatively, upload to a subdirectory (e.g.,
example.com/directory).

Create a MySQL Database and User.

In cPanel at ruachost.com, use the MySQL Database Wizard.

Create a database and user, then assign full privileges.

Note the database name, username, and password — you’ll need them during installation.

Run the Installer.

In your browser, go to the installation URL:

If installed in root →
http://example.com -
If installed in a subdirectory →
http://example.com/directory

The phpLD installation page will appear.

Configure Database Settings.

Enter the database details you created:

Database Server →
localhost -
Database Name → your database name

Username → your database user
-
Password → your database password

Create Administrator Account.
-
Enter an Admin Username, Password, Name, and Email Address.

This will be used to log in to the phpLD admin panel.

Finalize Installation.
-
Click Next to complete setup.

phpLD will create database tables and configure settings.

Once finished, you’ll see the Installation Finished page with a login URL.
