By default, WordPress sends email notifications whenever someone posts a comment or when a comment is held for moderation. If your site receives a lot of comments, these notifications can quickly overwhelm your inbox. On ruachost.com, you can easily adjust these settings.
Why Change Comment Notifications?
-
Prevent inbox overload from frequent comments.
-
Ensure only administrators receive moderation alerts.
-
Customize notifications to match your workflow.
Steps to Change Comment Notification Settings
-
Log in to WordPress as the administrator.
-
In the left‑hand dashboard menu, click Settings → Discussion.
-
Locate the E‑mail me whenever section:
-
Anyone posts a comment → Check this box to receive an email every time someone comments.
-
A comment is held for moderation → Check this box to receive an email when a comment requires approval.
-
Clear either box to disable that notification.
-
-
Click Save Changes at the bottom of the page.
