Installing an OpenCart theme

Steps to Install an OpenCart Theme

For OpenCart 2.0 and Newer Versions

1. Download the Theme

   • Obtain the theme you want from the OpenCart Marketplace or a trusted provider.

   • Theme files are usually compressed in .zip format.

2. Extract the Files

   • Unzip the downloaded file on your local computer.

   • The extracted folder typically contains directories such as admin, catalog, image, system, etc.

3. Upload to Server

   • Use FTP or your hosting control panel to upload the extracted folders to the public_html directory (or the directory where OpenCart is installed).

   • Ensure all files are copied into the root of your OpenCart installation.

4. Activate the Theme

   • Log in to OpenCart Administrator.

   • In the left sidebar, click Extensions → Themes.

   • Locate your store and click Edit.

   • Under General → Theme Directory, select the new theme.

   • Set Status to Enabled.

   • Click Save.

For OpenCart 1.5

1. Download and Extract the Theme

   • As above, download and unzip the theme files.

2. Upload to Server

   • Place the files in the public_html directory (or your OpenCart installation directory).

3. Activate the Theme

   • Log in to OpenCart Administrator.

   • On the top menu bar, click System → Settings.

   • Locate your store and click Edit.

   • Go to the Store tab.

   • In the Template list box, select the new theme.

   • Click Save.
