Backing up your data using Dropmysite

Learn how to back up your data using Dropmysite and manage database, website, and email backups via the cPanel plugin.

This guide explains how to use the Dropmysite cPanel plugin for:

  • Website backups

  • Database backups

  • E-mail backups

Do I need to configure any backups?

Dropmysite automatically sets up some backups, so extra configuration may not be needed:

Website backups: Dropmysite creates a default website backup for your account. You can also create custom backups if desired.

Database backups: Dropmysite backs up MySQL and PostgreSQL databases created via cPanel. If you install applications through Softaculous or auto-install with your hosting order, you must manually configure these backups.

E-mail backups: If Dropmysite was purchased with your hosting order, e-mail backups are automatic. For later additions, manual setup is required.

One e-mail backup is sufficient to cover all accounts for the primary and addon domains.
