ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) was formed in 1998. It is a not-for-profit partnership of people from all over the world dedicated to keeping the Internet secure, stable and interoperable. It promotes competition and develops policy on the Internet’s unique identifiers. ICANN requires domain owners to confirm their WHOIS contact information for new domain registrations, transfers and contact modifications.

After you purchase your domain name, you will receive an email from the domain registry to verify your contact information. Simply click on the verification link in the email and your contact information will be verified. Keep in mind that you should always use legit information while registering your domain name. NOTE: you should verify your information within 15 days from registration date, otherwise, your domain will be suspended and become unavailable. However, if you confirm the details, it'll start working again.

Contact detail verification is only required for these TLDs: .com, .xyz, .net, .org, .info, .biz, .asia, .name, .mobi, .info.
