Steps to Install StatusNet

Log in to cPanel.

Navigate to the Softaculous Apps Installer section.

Search for StatusNet.

In the Softaculous dashboard, type StatusNet in the search box.

Or browse under Micro Blogs → StatusNet.

Click Install.

The installation page will open.

Choose Protocol.

Select
https://orhttps://wwwif your site has an SSL certificate. -
Select
http://orhttp://wwwif SSL is not installed.

Choose Domain.

Select the domain where StatusNet will be installed.

Set Directory.

Leave blank if you want StatusNet installed at the root (e.g.,
example.com). -
Enter a folder name (e.g.,
status) if you want StatusNet installed atexample.com/status.

Configure Site Settings.

Site Name → Enter the name of your microblog.

Type of Site → Choose private, community, public, or single user.

Enable Fancy URLs if desired.

Set Admin Account.
-
Admin Username → Choose a unique username.

Admin Password → Use a strong password (Softaculous provides a strength meter).

Admin Email → Enter the administrator’s email address.

Advanced Options (Optional).

Set database name and backup location.
-
Configure automated backups and rotation.

Enable email notifications for updates.

Install.
-
Review settings and click Install.

Wait for confirmation. Softaculous will display the StatusNet login URL (e.g.,
example.com/index.php).
