Steps to Install dotProject

Log in to cPanel.

Navigate to the Softaculous Apps Installer section.

Search for dotProject.

In the Softaculous dashboard, type dotProject in the search box.

Or browse under Project Management → dotProject.

Click Install.

The installation page will open.

Choose Protocol.

Select
https://orhttps://wwwif your site has an SSL certificate. -
Select
http://orhttp://wwwif SSL is not installed.

Choose Domain.

Select the domain where dotProject will be installed.

Set Directory.

Leave blank if you want dotProject installed at the root (e.g.,
example.com). -
Enter a folder name (e.g.,
projects) if you want dotProject installed atexample.com/projects.

Configure Site Settings.

Site Name → Enter the title of your project management system.

Company Name → Enter your organization’s name.

Admin Username → Choose a unique username.
-
Admin Password → Use a strong password (Softaculous provides a strength meter or can generate one).

Admin Email → Enter the administrator’s email address.

Database Settings.

Provide a database name or accept the default.

Configure table prefix if needed.

Advanced Options (Optional).

Configure automated backups and rotation.
-
Enable email notifications for updates.

Choose auto‑upgrade options for dotProject.

Install.
-
Review settings and click Install.

Wait for confirmation. Softaculous will display the dotProject login URL (e.g.,
example.com/projects).
