Domain names are identity of a website, just as your name is your identity, instead of using string of numbers like 30.548.98.1 we use a domain name to identify a website. It's easier to remember, it also has extensions such as .co.za, .com, .com.ng, .uk, .us.ng etc en example is cloudnetvox.com, example.org, yoursite.com etc.

 

Subdomain depends on standard domains, you can create it in addition to your domain name etc. if you run a catering website abbyskitchen.com, and you go into smoothie making, you can create a subdomain like smoothie.abbyskitchen.com
