By default, WordPress automatically generates multiple versions of an image (thumbnail, medium, large) whenever you upload one. While this helps with responsive design, it can consume storage space unnecessarily. On ruachost.com, you can stop WordPress from generating extra image sizes directly from the dashboard, no plugin required.
Why Stop Extra Image Sizes?

Steps to Disable Extra Image Sizes

Log in to WordPress with an administrator account.

In the dashboard, go to Settings → Media.

In the Media Settings section, set the width and height to 0 (zero) for the following:

Thumbnail Size

Medium Size

Large Size

Click Save Changes.
✅ WordPress will no longer generate additional image sizes when you upload new images.
Important Notes

This change only affects new uploads. Previously generated sizes will remain in your Media Library.

If you want to remove old image sizes, use the Regenerate Thumbnails plugin or manually delete them.
