Starting with WordPress 5.8, the traditional Widget Editor was replaced with the Widget Block Editor. This new editor allows you to manage widget areas using the same block‑based interface as the Gutenberg editor. On ruachost.com, you can use the Widget Block Editor to add, remove, and customize widgets more flexibly.
Why Use the Widget Block Editor?

Steps to Edit Widget Areas with the Block Editor

Log in to WordPress with an administrator account.

In the dashboard, go to Appearance → Widgets.

The Widget Block Editor will open.

Select the widget area you want to edit (e.g., Sidebar, Footer).

Click the + (Add Block) button to insert a new block.

You can add traditional widgets (Search, Categories, Recent Posts).

Or add Gutenberg blocks (Paragraph, Image, Buttons, etc.).

Rearrange blocks by dragging and dropping them.

Configure block settings in the right‑hand panel (alignment, colors, typography).

Click Update to save changes.
