Steps to Add a Language

  1. Log in to PrestaShop as the administrator.

  2. On the top menu bar, click Localization → Translations.

  4. Click Add or update a language.

  5. PrestaShop will download and install the language pack.

 Tip: You can also use this process to update an existing language pack.

 

Viewing Installed Languages

  • On the top menu bar, click Localization → Languages.

  • You’ll see a list of all languages currently installed on your site.

 

Changing the Default Shop Language

  1. Log in to PrestaShop as the administrator.

  2. On the top menu bar, click Localization → Localization.

  3. Under Configuration, locate the Default language list box.

  4. Select the language you want to set as the new default.

  5. Click Save.

Important Notes

  • Always clear the Smarty cache after installing or updating languages to ensure changes appear.

  • Some modules may require manual translation after adding a new language.

  • Back up your site before making localization changes.
