When you install or renew an SSL certificate, your browser may continue to use a cached version of the old certificate. This can cause issues such as the padlock icon not appearing, or your site still showing as insecure. Clearing the SSL state forces the browser to reload the certificate from the server.

Why Clear the SSL State?

  • To ensure your browser recognizes a newly installed SSL certificate.

  • To fix issues where the padlock icon does not appear even though SSL is active.

  • To resolve certificate mismatch errors caused by cached data.
