If you originally set up a domain as an addon domain under another cPanel account, you may later decide to give it its own dedicated cPanel account. This is useful for better resource allocation, independent management, or providing separate login credentials.
Why Migrate an Addon Domain?

Steps to Migrate an Addon Domain
1. Log in to WebHost Manager (WHM)

Use your reseller, VPS, or dedicated server credentials.

In the search box (top left), type convert.
2. Access the Conversion Tool

Click Convert Addon Domain to Account.

The Convert Addon Domain to Account page will appear.
3. Select the Addon Domain

Locate the addon domain you want to migrate.

Click Convert.
4. Configure the New Account

Username → Choose a unique username for the new account.

Package → Select a hosting package (defines disk, bandwidth, etc.).

Website Configuration → Review and adjust settings.

Custom DNS Records → Carry over or edit DNS entries.

Email Accounts → Migrate existing email accounts.

MySQL Databases → Click Configure to select which databases and users to migrate.
5. Start the Conversion

Click Start Conversion.

WHM will begin migrating the addon domain into its own cPanel account.

Once complete, you’ll see start and end times of the process.
6. Verify the Migration

Test the new site to ensure it loads correctly.

Log in to the new cPanel account to confirm email, databases, and files migrated successfully.
