When Ruachost migrates a cPanel account from one server to another, only the data and settings managed within cPanel itself are included. Anything configured outside of cPanel (server-level or root-level settings) is not part of the migration.

Included in cPanel Migrations

The following items are migrated automatically:

  • Website files and content (everything in your home directory, including public_html).

  • Email accounts and associated settings:

    • Forwarders

    • Filters

    • Spam filters

    • Mailing lists

    • Autoresponders

    • Email routing settings

  • Databases: MySQL and PostgreSQL databases.

  • Cron jobs.

  • DNS settings (as configured in cPanel).

  • Domain redirects.

  • FTP accounts.

  • Backup settings.

  • Applications: Node.js, Python, and Ruby apps (on CloudLinux servers only).

  • Softaculous-installed applications.

  • SSL certificates (installed via cPanel).

Important Notes

  • On Shared, Reseller, and Managed WordPress accounts (CloudLinux servers), complete applications are migrated.

  • On VPS and Dedicated servers, only the application files are copied, the apps themselves are not reconfigured automatically. You may need to reinstall or reconfigure them.

Not Included in cPanel Migrations

The following are not migrated, since they are outside cPanel’s scope:

  • IP addresses and server network configuration.

  • Apache and PHP configuration files (e.g., httpd.conf).

  • Firewall configurations.

  • MySQL service configuration file (my.cnf).

  • Any files or settings created by the root user.

  • Server packages and custom software installed outside cPanel.

  • Server Rewind backups (applies to Shared, Reseller, and Managed WordPress accounts).

  • Two-factor authentication (2FA) — you’ll need to reconfigure this in cPanel after migration.
