Importing e-mail accounts and forwarders in cPanel

If you need to create multiple e‑mail accounts or forwarders, doing it manually can be time‑consuming. cPanel’s Address Importer tool lets you upload lists in bulk, saving effort and reducing errors.

Important Notes

• The Address Importer feature is available only on Managed Dedicated Servers and Managed VPS accounts.

• Shared, reseller, and turbo hosting accounts do not support this feature.

Supported File Formats

You can import data using:

• CSV files (.csv)

• Microsoft Excel files (.xls)

CSV File Fields

• E‑mail address or username

• Password

• Domain

• Mailbox quota (MB)

Example line in CSV:

davidpaul,90%^Hj{g,example.com,10

• davidpaul → username

• 90%^Hj → password

• example.com → domain

• 10 → quota in MB

 Only the e‑mail address (username) field is required. If you omit passwords, cPanel generates strong random ones automatically.

Importing E‑mail Accounts

1. Log in to cPanel.

2. Go to Email → Address Importer.

3. Under Step 1, select E‑mail Accounts.

4. Under Step 2, click Choose File → select your CSV/XLS file.

5. If using CSV, specify the delimiter (usually a comma).

6. (Optional) Check Treat first row as column headers.

7. Click Next.

8. Map columns to headers:

   • Ignore

   • Email

   • Password

   • Domain

   • Quota (MB)

9. Select the domain for the accounts.

10. Click Next → Finish.

Importing E‑mail Forwarders

1. Log in to cPanel → Address Importer.

2. Under Step 1, select Forwarders.

3. Under Step 2, click Browse → select your CSV/XLS file.

4. If using CSV, specify the delimiter.

5. (Optional) Check Treat first row as column headers.

6. Click Next.

7. Map columns to headers:

   • Ignore

   • Source (original address)

   • Target (destination address)

8. Click Next → Finish.
