By default, webmail applications use the host server’s time zone. If you are in a different region, you can change the time zone setting in Roundcube so that message timestamps display correctly for you.

Why Change the Time Zone?

  • Ensures e‑mail timestamps match your local time.

  • Avoids confusion when scheduling or tracking communication.

Steps to Change the Time Zone in Roundcube

  1. Log in to Roundcube Webmail.

  2. Click Settings in the left sidebar.

  3. Select Preferences → User Interface.

  4. Locate the Time Zone dropdown menu.

  5. Choose your local time zone (e.g., Africa/Lagos for Nigeria).

  6. Click Save.

  7. Log out and back in → timestamps now display in your chosen time zone.

Notes

  • The change affects only your account’s webmail interface, not the server’s system time.

  • If you access the same mailbox via Outlook, Thunderbird, or another client, configure the time zone separately in that application.

  • Roundcube remembers your setting until you change it again.
