cPanel’s webmail (Roundcube) supports CalDAV and CardDAV protocols, which allow you to synchronize calendars and contacts with local clients (desktop or mobile). This ensures your schedules and address books stay consistent across devices.

About CalDAV and CardDAV

  • CalDAV → Synchronizes calendar events.

  • CardDAV → Synchronizes contacts.

  • Native support is available on Apple devices (macOS, iOS).

  • Other clients (Outlook, Thunderbird, Android) require plugins or apps.

⚠️ Support is provided on a best‑effort basis due to the wide variety of client configurations.

Step 1: Get Remote Configuration

  1. Log in to Webmail at:

    https://example.com:2096

    (Replace example.com with your domain.)

  2. On the top menu bar, click your account name → Preferences and Settings.

  3. Select Calendars and Contacts.

  4. cPanel displays:

    • Auto‑configuration details.

    • Direct URLs for manual setup (Secure SSL/TLS URLs).

Step 2: Configure Local Client

Each client has its own interface, but the required information is the same:

  • DAV URL → Server URL or Alternate Server URL from cPanel.

  • Username → Full e‑mail address.

  • Password → Your e‑mail password.

  • Email Address → Full e‑mail address.

Example: Outlook with CalDAV Synchronizer Plugin

  1. Install the CalDAV Synchronizer plugin.

  2. In Outlook, open plugin settings → enter the above details.

  3. Click Test or Discover Settings → select available calendars/contacts.

  4. Repeat for each calendar/contact list you want to sync.

Example: Thunderbird

  1. Install TbSync and CardBook add‑ons.

  2. Add a new CalDAV/CardDAV account → enter the server URL, username, and password.

  3. Sync calendars and contacts.

Notes

  • If auto‑configuration fails, use the direct URLs provided in cPanel.

  • Synchronization may vary depending on client software.

  • Apple devices support CalDAV/CardDAV natively; other platforms need plugins.
